The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework
states that early years providers should consider whether
paediatric first aiders need to undertake annual refresher
training to maintain basic key skills and keep up to date with
any changes to paediatric first aid procedures.
The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (Annual
Refresher) (RQF) qualification has been specifically designed
to allow qualified paediatric first aiders to refresh their
knowledge and practice essential paediatric first aid skills
every year until requalification training is required.
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by preparing them to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations. It is designed to help maintain skills and keep up to date with any changes to paediatric first aid procedures.
Tuppco proudly delivers on-site training courses across a wide region of the South and Central UK. The Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher) (RQF) – QA Level 3 Award is designed to help learners refresh and update the essential first aid skills needed to confidently respond to emergencies involving babies and children. This annual refresher course ensures that childcare professionals, teachers, nursery staff, and anyone working with children maintain the knowledge and practical abilities required to deliver safe, effective, and timely first aid.
The key objective of this course is to reinforce critical life-saving techniques—such as CPR, the recovery position, managing choking, treating bleeding, and recognising serious childhood illnesses—while ensuring compliance with current RQF and QA Level 3 paediatric first aid standards. By refreshing these skills each year, learners stay competent, confident, and prepared to act in high-pressure situations.
This course also supports organisations in meeting Ofsted and EYFS best-practice recommendations for regular first aid updates. Delivered by experienced instructors, Tuppco Training provides a hands-on, engaging learning experience that strengthens practical ability and improves workplace safety for children in any care setting.
Upon successful completion of the Paediatric First Aid (Annual Refresher) (RQF) – QA Level 3 Award, learners will receive an officially recognised Qualsafe Awards (QA) Level 3 Certificate. This certificate confirms that participants have refreshed the essential knowledge and practical skills required to provide effective paediatric first aid in emergency situations.
This refresher award helps childcare professionals, school staff, nursery workers, and anyone responsible for infants and children maintain confidence and competence in life-saving techniques. The certificate demonstrates ongoing compliance with Ofsted and EYFS requirements when combined with a full Paediatric First Aid qualification.
This qualification is ideal for individuals who have already completed a full Paediatric First Aid (Level 3) qualification and need to keep their training current and compliant. It supports professionals working in:
