  • What is QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF)?

    The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed to equip candidates with the essential skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support in an emergency situation.

    It is the perfect qualification for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also ideal for qualified first aiders who are looking to refresh their knowledge and practise the latest basic life support techniques.

    The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by preparing them to deal with an adult and a child who needs basic life support.

  • What does the Tuppco training course include?
    • Assessing an incident
    • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally:

    • Recognising when to commence CPR and defibrillation

    • Adult CPR and defibrillation

    • Child CPR and defibrillation

    • Infant CPR and defibrillation

    • Managing an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally:

    • Assessing levels of consciousness

    • Opening the airways

    • Checking breathing

    • Recovery Position

    • Managing choking

    • Recognising the signs of choking

  • Venue and Equipment Requirements:
    • Suitable and safe area to complete paperwork
    • Suitable welfare facilities
    • Suitable area for practical demonstrations
    • Risk assessment completed
  • Practical assessment criteria
    • Practical assessments – observed by the Trainer throughout the course, with the results of each learning outcome recorded on the practical assessment paperwork. 
    • There are 5 mandatory practical assessments for this qualification:

    • CPR and safe use of an AED

    • Child CPR and safe use of an AED

    • Infant CPR and safe use of an AED

    • Choking casualty (BLSA&C)

    • Unconscious casualty (BLSA&C)

Objective Of Course

The objective of the Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) – QA Level 2 Award with TUPPCO Training is to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills to provide immediate life-saving support to adults, children, and infants in emergency situations.
